About Chris Groeber | Leadership Coach & Organizational Consultant
Chris Groeber is dedicated to guiding professionals through challenges, surfacing their strengths, and helping organizations move through real transformation — grounded in decades spent inside the systems he now helps others navigate.
Thirty-five years of learning what actually helps.

Years in public & private human services
Groeber Consulting, LLC — doing business as Gro & Co — was born out of thirty-five years working in human services across both the public and private sectors. Its foundations come from ideas Chris has carried through that whole career: social entrepreneurship, building social capital, collective impact, and values-based practice.
That history shapes how Chris works today. Caring for vulnerable populations, he believes, calls for thinking about things differently, trying new approaches, and doing it all from a clearly defined set of values — not simply repeating what's always been done.
"If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten."
Whether it's individual coaching, facilitating a Board, re-building a mission and vision, developing a program, training staff and stakeholders, or just brainstorming through a hard problem, Chris shows up ready to think differently alongside you.

How it works?
01. Assessment
Where Do You Want to Go?
Chris will work with you to identify the areas you want to focus on and explore what achieving your goals could look like. Together, you will identify potential barriers that could interfere with your progress and develop practical strategies for recognizing and managing them.
You will also work on creating an internal dialogue that is fair, supportive, and aligned with the changes you want to make. Progress will be measured using practical tools selected according to your learning style, needs, and personal preferences.
02. Coaching Sessions
An Approach Tailored to You
Drawing on his experience as a former clinician, coaching participant, and therapy participant, Chris understands that everyone responds differently to change, constructive feedback, and coaching techniques.
Mindfulness, journaling, self-reflection, accountability, and other exercises can affect people in different ways. Chris carefully considers your communication preferences, comfort level, and responses when developing each session. Coaching conversations are honest, direct, supportive, and tailored to help you participate meaningfully in your own process of change.
03. Progress Evaluation
Measuring Meaningful Change
An old saying reminds us that “what gets measured gets done,” while Chris’s personal philosophy is, “If you don’t have goals, you will never reach them.”
Because success looks different for everyone, your progress will be evaluated according to your individual goals. Recognizing improvement can strengthen motivation and help you continue moving forward. When a strategy is not producing the desired result, evaluation helps identify the need to pause, adjust, and try a different approach.
Together, you and Chris will create an individualized evaluation process that helps you understand what is working, what is not, and what should happen next.
My Story

For much of my life, I focused on staying ahead of challenges rather than fully addressing the barriers preventing me from making the changes I needed.

I believed that being transactional—meeting expectations, achieving measurable results, and working long hours—would keep me moving forward. In my early fifties, however, I realized that what I was truly seeking was transformation, not transaction.
That realization required me to look differently at my goals, relationships, and work. When I slowed down and asked myself who I genuinely wanted to be, I recognized that many of my goals depended on other people’s opinions of my work. Their approval had become a significant part of how I defined myself.

Through reflection and greater self-awareness, I gave myself permission to establish goals that supported genuine transformation. I began developing a healthier internal dialogue and using my own values as a measure of success instead of continually seeking affirmation from others.
The framework behind every engagement.
Gro & Co, quite simply, seeks to help those who help others — and to maximize the collective potential of the people and organizations doing that work.
